XLPE Insulated Flame Retardant Shipboard Power Cable
Our 0.6/1kV XLPE Insulated Shipboard Power Cables are designed for power transmission, lighting, and general control applications on various marine vessels, offshore platforms, and onshore industrial facilities including metallurgical plants, chemical works, and power stations . These cables combine excellent electrical performance with high flame retardancy, ensuring safe and reliable operation in demanding environments.
Overview
1. Key Technical Features
Feature | Specification | Standard |
Rated Voltage | 0.6/1 kV | IEC 60092-350 |
Conductor | Stranded tinned annealed copper, Class 2 | IEC 60228 |
Insulation | XLPE (Cross-linked Polyethylene) | IEC 60092-351 |
Operating Temperature | Up to 90°C (normal), 250°C (short circuit, max 5s) | |
Flame Retardancy | IEC 60332-3-22 Category A | IEC 60332-3-22 |
Low Smoke | Light transmittance ≥ 60% | IEC 61034 |
Halogen-Free | Halogen acid gas content < 5 mg/g, pH ≥ 4.3 | IEC 60754 |
2. Material Options: SHF1 vs. SHF2
Our cables offer both thermoplastic (SHF1) and thermoset (SHF2) sheath materials to suit different installation environments:
Property | SHF1 (Thermoplastic) | SHF2 (Thermoset) |
Material Type | Halogen-free thermoplastic compound | Halogen-free thermoset compound |
Temperature Range | -40°C to +80°C | -40°C to +90°C |
Oil Resistance | Moderate | Excellent – suitable for engine rooms |
Mud Resistance | Not applicable | Available – for drilling platforms |
Application | General interior areas | Harsh environments (engine rooms, decks) |
Key Advantages:
SHF1: Cost-effective, flexible, ideal for cabins and control rooms
SHF2: Superior thermal and chemical resistance, perfect for machinery spaces and outdoor installations.
3. Product Series & Construction
We offer two main series to meet diverse installation requirements:
3.1 CJPJ/SC & CJPF/SC Series (LSZH, Low smoke zero halogen)
Structure:
Conductor: Stranded tinned annealed copper (Class 2)
Insulation: XLPE
Inner Sheath: PJ (SHF2) or PF (SHF1) – halogen-free flame retardant compound
Armor: 8 – Tinned copper wire braid (TCWB) or 9 – Galvanized steel wire braid (GSWB)
Outer Sheath: 5 (SHF2) or 6 (SHF1) – halogen-free flame retardant compound
Applications: Ideal for applications requiring low smoke, zero halogen, and high fire safety.
3.2 CJV/SA Series (PVC)
Structure:
Conductor: Stranded tinned annealed copper (Class 2)
Insulation: XLPE
Inner Sheath: V – PVC
Armor: 8 – Tinned copper wire braid or 9 – Galvanized steel wire braid
Outer Sheath: 0 – Without outer sheath or 2 – PVC
Applications: Suitable for general marine environments where PVC is acceptable.
